Not Just Another Neck Strap

Let’s be clear — the F1 functions beautifully as a neck strap — but it really shines when worn sling-style (cross-body).

The integral “adjustment tab” quickly tailors the strap length, without additional plastic or metal hardware. That’s especially useful when worn cross-body — because you can go from having the camera slung low (for unhindered portrait or landscape shooting), to having it securely cinched up (for easy mobility) — just by pulling the tab.

Less to Get in the Way

A funny thing happened when we created our M1-Series quick-release camera straps — a lot of people who’d been diehard quick-release proponents put one of our quick-release straps on their camera, and never took it off!

As it turned out, much of the quick-release appeal had to do with getting old-fashioned chunky, clunky camera straps out of the way — but “chunky” and “clunky” are two words you will never hear used to describe a Simplr strap, where every piece and stitch has been carefully chosen to reduce bulk and weight.

If you need quick-release, buy an M1a. If you don’t, the F1 is stronger and harder-wearing, without additional bulk. In fact, It’s strong enough to be used with any camera and lens you own.

More Comfortable to Hold

Most camera straps have two sets of adjusters and retainers, located at both ends. That’s a lot of hardware near your camera, plus it’s a fiddly and time-consuming way to adjust your strap.

The F1’s length is adjusted by a single sliplok, located on the upper portion of the strap, which means there are no lumps under your hand (where it matters most).

It’s All in the Details

When we started designing the F1, the part we thought would be the easiest to find — the little round ring that connects it to your camera — turned out to be the toughest.

After torture-testing many inferior rings, we developed some seriously strong US-made split rings. Made from steel and magnesium alloy, they’re twice as strong as most of the others we tested — and always spring fully closed — so you don’t have to worry about them squiggling off your camera.

Light, Strong & Built to Last

Materials used to make the F1 are similar to what you’d find on state-of-the-art expedition gear, where strength-to-weight ratio is critical, and exposure to the elements is no big deal (try that with a fancy leather strap).

We build them to ridiculously high standards in our shop, right here in the US.
