New!

If our F1 had a mutant superhero baby, it would be the F1ultralight.

Combine the F1’s expedition-grade construction, quick-adjustment tab, and streamlined design — with even more breathtaking lightness and slimmer proportions — and you’ve got the featherweight champion of camera straps. (weighing in at one ounce!)

With durable 3/4″ wide webbing and tiny-but-tough acetal hardware, the F1ultralight is strong where it counts. More importantly, it’s small where counts — especially near your hand where it matters most. With zero extra bulk, and sleek lug mount attachment, it’s about as close as you can get to holding a naked camera.

As the smallest cameras inherit the capabilities of their larger brethren (like the Fujifilm X100 and Sony RX1R series), so too should your camera strap — and that’s exactly what we did with the F1ultralight.

Usually ships in 1–2 business days.

Overview

Functionally, the F1ultralight is the same as our acclaimed F1 — streamlined, easy to adjust, and plenty strong — with a couple key differences…

One: The F1ultralight is slimmer than the F1, by a lot. On paper, the difference between 3/4″ (19mm) and 1″ (25.4mm) wide webbing might not sound that big, but it is — and the hardware is smaller too. The sum of the F1ultralight’s parts is significantly more compact, even though the length and range of adjustment are practically the same.

With very small cameras, there’s no appreciable difference in comfort (we recommend the F1ultralight for cameras up to 1.5lb [.68kg] even though it’s fully-capable of supporting much more), but you may find an F1 more comfortable on bigger cameras (wider webbing distributes weight across a larger area).

Two: The F1ultralight employs a handy “rip cord” which can be used to form a lanyard/long wrist strap (or fold the strap neatly for storage) — whereas on the F1, the webbing can be looped through the D-rings to form a wrist strap.

  1. The best split-ring camera strap designed with versatility and simplicity in mind. Excellent for your everyday adventures!

Having been a huge fan of their M1 series and the original F1 strap, I saw this new model from SIMPLR and had to give it a try; I was extremely glad that I did. While I love the M1 series for their detachable lug straps, some cameras ask for a more anchored strap and the F1ultralight exceeds my expectations. It combines the best elements of the M1 and the F1 straps into a very slim, strong, and wonderful package.

The purpose of the F1ultralight is to allow you to quickly dial in your preferred length and forget it. Its lightweight design collapses very easily into a camera bag or simply wraps around your hand as a quick wrist strap, and the strap hardware is very durable and polished. Most camera straps are incredibly bulky, whether the straps themselves, or the hardware used, but the every aspect of the F1ultralight strap is made for everything you need, nothing more.

Perfect for fixed-lens cameras like the X100 and RX1 series or interchangeable mirrorless cameras with prime lenses. While the M1 series is excellent for cameras with small or shallow lugs, such as RX100 series or the Ricoh GR series of cameras, the F1ultralight provides a bit more stability while not compromising on bulk for any camera with a split-ring lug design. It is especially well-suited for Fuji lugs, which in recent years have incorporated an extra piece on the inside to increase the longevity of the lug, but also have a side-effect of being a bit scratchy on non-metal strap connections. However, zero worries with the F1ultralight.

My new favorite strap. Great job, Simplr!
